Based on 350 reviewsArbutus Cafe in Duncan, BC, is widely praised for its welcoming small-town atmosphere and consistently delicious, hearty breakfast and lunch offerings. Reviewers frequently highlight generous portions, fresh homemade dishes, and a menu featuring unique and comforting options like house-made pies and classic breakfast staples with a gourmet touch. The cafe’s service is noted as friendly and attentive, contributing to a relaxed dining experience. While the decor is described as somewhat dated, the overall charm and cleanliness, including updated facilities, receive positive mentions. Some feedback points to limited parking, but this does not detract from the strong value and quality recognized by many patrons who appreciate this local gem’s authentic, home-cooked appeal.
The local glass shop, Dobsons Glass, recomended this cafe for lunch while they replaced my trucks windsheild. This is a busy little diner and looks mostly unchanged for decades. Although the restaurant decor is a little worn, the washroom has been updated. After two recent visits I enjoyed a great lunch and very friendly service in a relaxed small town atmosphere. Try the beef dip!
Generous with fillings, super tasty, and options you don't see everywhere else! Multiple fresh made pies which change. There's a cute patio section if you walk through. Has such a genuine, old school, small town vibe. The poutine comes with grated cheese instead of cheese curds, but it tasted great and the fries were the best I've had in a long time, fresh and crispy! There isn't much parking but I'd recommend parking and walking anyway, there are plenty of places to see on the way! Help keep downtown alive. We'll definitely be back!
Found this little gem today for the first time. Exactly what we were looking for. Amazing home cooked food made with love!! Best pancake I’ve ever eaten. Large portions with great value. Will definitely be back again! Keep up the amazing eats!
First time and won’t be the last! Great place, service, food, value. Don’t miss visiting this place.
Amazing orange yolked eggs, gourmet/house made hollandaise sauce and the perfect hash browns with varying textures and bits all fried up with high quality ham and the perfect sausage and bacon, 10/10 top tier, best in town breakfast (up there with the brunch on 3rd) fast and regular coffee right away, best service, very happy right now praise the Lord
What a great experience! In the tradition of quality urban mid-century eateries and cafes, this historic cafe serves delicious, hearty meals. We loved it that numerous regular customers came in, ordered “the usual” and put it on their tab
A very pleasant surprise! Staff were super friendly and the food was very tasty!A very popular spot in downtown Duncan, and I can see why! They use fresh ingredients, make their own sauces & hamburger patties, cut their own fries and fresh roast turkey for their clubhouse sandwich... which I had and really enjoyed! It may sound insignificant, but the home made coleslaw was really good!A perfect 'diner' for breakfast and lunch... I'll be back!
A friend that is a regular suggested to go there for brunch. I was pleasantly surprised. The crew was really nice and food came in very fast, even when they were quite busy at that time. The restaurant was nice but starting to feel the pass of time. Still a good option for breakfast and brunch. Note they don’t open on Sundays and close early.
